Minutes the Meeting of the Parish Council held at Filmer Hall on Wednesday 1st July 2009 at 8.00 p.m.
Present: Messrs Edmed (chairman), Ireland, Turnill, Worsfold along with the clerk Mrs Rimmer and MBCllr Mrs Gibson.
- APOLOGIES: Mr Skinner
- DECLARATION OF INTEREST: Mr Worsfold declared a personal interest in item 7 Village Hall.
- POLICE REPORT; None
Agenda for Parish East Forum received for meeting on 3rd July – no representative to attend.
- MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING HELD 3RD MAY 2009 were agreed as a true and accurate record of proceedings.
- MATTERS ARISING: None other than agenda items.
- PLAY AREA IMPROVEMENTS
The repairs have now been completed and grant monies received. Wicksteed have been asked to quote for remedial works to swings identified in Play Area Inspection. Monies available for repairs from Devolved Budgets of MBC and KCC Councillors towards Play Area
- VILLAGE HALL
Quotations received regarding restoration of village hall floor. It was agreed that the contract be awarded to Four Jays at a cost of £835.00. It was also agreed that the quotation from Four Jays for the repainting of the toilets be accepted at a cost of £395.00.
- RISK ASSESSMENT
Two risk assessments in respect of administration and governance were put before councillors and adopted.
a) Mr Ireland gave the council an update on Highway matters as at the end of June. There is still a list of outstanding items. It would appear that the KHS system is not really working and not all issues are logged. Follow up to be requested.
b) It was noted that any work that has been completed has been completed to a good standard.
c) No new issues to report
a) Invitation to Chairman to attend Mayors garden party – unable to attend
b) Letter from new KCC Councillor for the area – Clerk to contact giving details of all meetings and add to circulation list for minutes etc.
I. Applications received
MA/09/0971 – Land adj to Highlands, Chartway Street – demolition of existing single storey garage/workshop and erection of single storey building for class B1 use – no objection
MA/09/0861 – Great Oak Farm, Friday Street – Erection of agricultural barn – refuse. It was considered that the proposal was too large for the agricultural setting and purpose of use proposed.
