Minutes of the Meeting of the Parish Council held at the Filmer Hall on Wednesday 3rd March 2010 at 7.30 p.m.
Present: Messrs Edmed (chairman), Ireland, Turnill and Skinner together with Mrs Rimmer, Clerk to the Council, Mrs Whittle KCCllr and one member of the public.
1. Apologies: Mr Worsfold
2. Declaration of Interest: None
3. Police Report: None
4. Minutes of the meeting held on Wednesday 20th January 2010 were agreed as a true and accurate record of proceedings.
5. Matters Arising from the Minutes
Insurance policy has been amended to include Village Hall and additional play equipment. Invoice for additional premium awaited.
b) Street Sweeping
Request that Brick Kiln Lane and Charlton Lane are added to the schedule.
c) Play Area
No quotation received to date for fence. Quotation received to replace bushes on swings being £133.98.
Action: Order to be placed for repairs.
d) War Memorial
Application for funding sent to Mr Thick. Names to be added in this financial year with additional plinth being erected in 2010-2011.
e) Griffins Farm
Mr Skinner reported that he has spoken to the farm manager who was happy to meet with councillors to discuss the problems being caused by lorries visiting the farm.
a) KCC report circulated to councillors. No change from last meeting.
b) Works are underway to repair the potholes in Workhouse Lane. Other areas in which potholes are causing a problem include Friday Street, in particular at Hecton Farm and Pleasure House Lane.
c) Mrs Whittle reported that the KCC Director for Highways has sought tenders from small and medium sized local businesses to carry out repairs. It is hoped that these will be carried out in the near future.
d) Mrs Whittle also commented on the KCC reporting system stating that additional columns detailing the name of the officer assigned and the completion target would be of assistance to Parish Councils.
e) Chartway Street was totally impassible over the weekend due to blocked drains on the Golf Course boundary.
Action: Map of potholes to be drawn up and sent to Mrs Whittle.

11. Additional matters to be discussed at next meeting
12. Date of next Parish Council meeting – 5th May 2010. Following the meeting is was determined that the Parish Council elections were due to be held this year and therefore the meeting will be held on 12th May 2010 in line with procedures.
